Re-Signing: Bird RightsA team is allowed to exceed the salary cap on a re-signing if their player has three or more seasons of experience with that team. - A hard cap of $80,000,000 still applies to players re-signed using Bird Rights.
- If a player is lost to free agency and signed again by a team, the team's Bird Rights to that player are forfeit.
- If a player is traded and re-acquired at a later date, his Bird Rights are forfeit.
- A player may be re-signed for contracts up to 6 years in length using Bird Rights.
- Bird Rights do not come into effect after three seasons of Dynasty Six, they incorporate the amount of years players have spent on their real-life NBA team also.
- For Example: Carlos Boozer's contract with Utah expires this Off Season, but if the Jazz want to re-sign him they will have Boozer's Bird Rights because he has spent more than three years with Utah in the NBA.
