I think this is it guys. I'm going to stop running D6.
I tried simming today for the first time in ages, as you all know and have been patiently waiting for, and once again the database is bugged, and this time it's the Elite Division.
I don't want to string this out any longer, I don't have it in me to keep fixing and returning to backups, and that's no fun for you either.
What I probably will do is start a new league again, once Dynasty Five's Off Season is over (in about 1 month's time, more or less), and it'll be without divisions. Divisions were a good idea, but obviously all the bugs in the databases make it unfeasible.
I'll post a link to the new league here, and send out mass-emails, so make sure the email addresses attached to your accounts here are ones you check regularly.
I'm sorry to all you guys who have put in hard work for your teams, you've all done a great job and D6 could've been a place of fantastic legacy if it weren't for the technical problems - and my lack of time.

and in that new league will we have the same teams or can we change them?

You can change them probably. There wont be expansion teams. I think I'll keep the season shortened still, just so we can have more Off Season time to mould and shape our teams.

oh noooo...hate to read this! maybe we can just continue with the same teams incl. all trades we have made?
and maybe just do 29 or 58 games...and focus more the offseason and playoffs...so its easier for you to sim...a sim league is enough work already...

I might allow changes to some of the less established franchises, or one with names that suck (Bobcats, Thunder etc.).

I say the Thunder should be called the Sonics, and they should play in Seattle.

Carolina Flight instead of Charlotte Bobcats too, since MJ has taken over there now.

Maybe the Memphis Blues, in homage to Elvis perhaps. What do Grizzly Bears have to do with Memphis? lol

Here is my proposal:
I was going to start a league like this a few years ago, and I informed a couple of you about it, but since I am a terrible head admin, it never got off. But, anyway;
There are 30 teams in the league, just like the real NBA. There are 2 conferences with 3 divisions each, just like the real NBA. When you register to claim a team, you get to chose where your team is located and what your mascot is. After all 30 teams have been made, the admins go in and divide the teams up geographically into the 2 conferences and 3 divisions. Then, for the rest of the league's life, the team location and names stick, and it is an entirely unique league.
However, this would have to be a fantasy draft league for obvious reasons... which I'm not sure if Boston wants to do (although they are really fun!)

I love the idea of the Carolina Flight for the Bobcats! I wanted it named that all along. The only other name really close for me is the Carolina Cougars since it keeps with the Panthers theme and is named after NC's 1st pro basketball team (coached by Larry Brown no less).

I just think franchises like the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Knicks, Pistons, Spurs and the like are irreplaceable and should be kept. Newer teams like the Thunder, Magic, Timberwolves I can see it happening. And teams with crap names like the Bobcats, Grizzlies, Bucks etc. maybe add the Nets to that too, hehe. I'm always against fantasy drafts though, they level the playing field too much and, bizarrely enough, that does tend to be a bad thing in sim leagues.

I agree about the drafting, what I think is cool to do is give each team like 3 or 4 players to build their team around and let them draft further on. but thats just a suggestion. lol They do it in my fantasy bball league since this is gone.
