I figured that, since Rajon has actually been perhaps the most impressive player of the Playoffs in real life, this trade might actually stand a chance. It's up to the Trade Committee to decide this trade on realism and talent though, obviously I don't have a vote but I accept.

Well this trade is interesting. LeBron is opting out and there is a good chance he is not going back to Cleveland and it makes sense for CLE to be looking for trades for him and getting Rondo is a good return. He can build around him and make a championship quality team around someone with a long contract.
For Boston it basically makes them a one off team where this is a last grab at a championship before starting a rebuilding process in the off season.
There is strategic logic on both sides and I would not have a problem if this trade goes through but if it does it will have to open the door for similar trades like this and some of the ones that have already been rejected. This can't be a commisioner bias trade, it has to be a benchmark trade where future trades with similar realism will have to be accepted.
I accept.

IMO, Mo Williams should be taken out of the deal and replaced with a guy like Gibson to make it more fair.
LBJ >> Pierce Williams < Rondo

I agree, Williams and Rondo are not that far apart, but LBJ is definitively ahead of Pierce. Im also interested to find out if you can resign Lebron too, or else your really giving up 2 quality players for nothing...

Yup, I was thinking the same thing as the above two as well.
Lebron for Rondo + Pierce still favors Boston IMO, but throwing in Mo Williams causes the trade to be extremely unbalanced
We are talking about the best basketball player in the universe... for a 32 year old and PG who can't do anything in a half-court offense

yeah I agree that perhaps Gibson & LBJ for Rondo & Pierce would make more sense.

i think it's an unrealistic trade pierce would never leave the celtics but this might work for both teams we'll see..

The same rules regarding realism, which we've applied to all those other LBJ trades that Cleveland has posted, still operate here. If you think it's unrealistic, don't accept it. This trade doesn't change the precedents that previously existed. Cleveland offered me the deal and I figured I'd accept because it gives me Lebron, and that's all.

ian, what happens to the player options? Pierce and Lebron both could opt out...LBJ will 100% in real life...pierce not...how does it work here??? and whats your plan for resigning lebron coming offseason (you dont have the bird years)?

Okay, then based on the precedents of the previous trades and the trade realism thread this trade would never happen. LeBron is basically untradeable. Pierce is in every way a Celtic and Rondo is their future. In real life Boston already has a decent shot at a championship so it has no effect on team direction and Cleveland will desperately hold on to LeBron prabably forever even if he leaves. So I reject.

Yeah i think i gotta practise what i preach. Gotta reject this one solely based on the fact that Rondo, Pierce or LeBron are untradeable.

I'm actually glad I got the opportunity to enforce the realism rule on myself. I hope the rejection of this trade shows how dedicated the league is, and why it's an important rule to enforce.
