Wiretap Mini-Article: Celtics Changing Tact
It had been thought that Celtics GM, Ian Noble, was planning a pre-season break up of the established Boston lineup that includes championship veterans Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. In the past 24 hours however, Noble has announced a turnaround in his position and instead is looking to keep all five of the players in his starting lineup intact unless a "young superstar" can be acquired.
"Looking at the league system that's in place", explained Noble, "it would seem wiser, both for the long term and short term prospects of the Celtics, to keep our lineup intact."
"Our 'big-3' obviously still have a lot left in the tank. If we keep our win/loss ratio at a high level this season, we'll hopefully earn the reward points needed to make the major changes our roster requires to ensure Celtic dominance for the next decade of play."
With the mighty Off Season Free Agent crop of 2010 around the corner and almost $60m of salary tied up in just 3 players, the Celtics may only need to make a few adjustments to be in contention for a big-name this Off Season.
